The strategist

I turn commercial judgement into clear decisions you can use.

I work with founder-led micro and small businesses whose quality is stronger than the way the brand currently communicates it.

Who is Nadine Benjamin, the brand strategist?

Nadine Benjamin is an independent brand and marketing strategist based in London, United Kingdom, with a BA (Hons) in Business Management (Marketing) and Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM). She works remotely with founder-led micro and small businesses, giving them positioning, messaging and marketing strategy as documents they own.

This is a one-person practice, not an agency: the strategist you speak to is the one who does the work and signs it. The practice sells strategy only, never visual design or campaign execution.

About Nadine

Closing the gap between what you built and what people understand.

Your offer may be strong while the pitch changes between conversations, prospective clients struggle to understand the difference and growth begins to stall. I help you close that gap.

I am Nadine Benjamin, BA (Hons), ACIM, a Brand & Marketing Strategist working with founder-led micro and small businesses across the UK, entirely remotely. I help you define who the business serves, the value it offers and why the right customers should choose it, then turn those decisions into language your business can use consistently.

I work with founders at two moments in particular. The first is right at the start: building a new brand from the ground up, where getting the positioning, naming and tone of voice right from day one sets the direction for everything that follows and gives it a far stronger foundation. This is exactly how I developed hushri, from positioning to launch. The second is established businesses, past launch and trading, that sense growth has slowed and that their brand no longer reflects the quality of what they deliver. In both cases I shape the strategy and the blueprint, ready for your chosen creatives to bring to life.

The hushri case study shows how I applied these strategic foundations from positioning through to launch.

I graduated as a mature student in 2025 with an Upper Second-class (2:1) BA (Hons) Business Management (Marketing) from The Open University. The 360-credit degree included business management, understanding customers, strategic management, marketing in action, leadership and shaping business opportunities.

My professional application for Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (ACIM) was approved in 2025. The Chartered Institute of Marketing describes ACIM badge earners as capable of providing solid strategic and tactical direction. I also completed CIM's Marketing and Brand Strategy course: 25 hours of continuing professional development covering brand strategy, marketing strategy and innovation strategy as separate modules.

My earlier academic path began with a Certificate in Legal Studies from The Open University, followed by two years of study towards an LLB at the University of Greenwich. I later changed direction, progressing through a Diploma of Higher Education to the BA (Hons) Business Management (Marketing). The legal study developed the evidence, interpretation and argumentation skills I now apply to strategic work. The standard behind my recommendations is expressed through the CANDID Values: Clarity, Accountability, Nuance, Diligence, Integrity and Discernment.

The decisive input in strategy is judgement: determining what is commercially right for your business, market and circumstances. AI can generate strategic options quickly. I assess their evidence, relevance and commercial strength before making a recommendation. I use that judgement to make recommendations that can withstand commercial scrutiny.

Effective branding makes it easier for the right people to understand, trust and choose the business without overstating its scale.

Strategic foundations

The decisions that shape my approach.

01

Brand before marketing

I establish who the business is for and why it is worth choosing before recommending greater marketing activity.

02

Clarity before visibility

Reach only amplifies what is already there. Make the message unmistakable before increasing the volume.

03

Strategy before execution

Design, copy and campaigns should express a strategic decision that has already been made.

04

Judgement directs generation

AI can produce plausible options. I use commercial judgement to decide which direction can hold up in the market.

Methodology

From commercial truth to a direction people can use.

I adjust the depth to the engagement while applying the same decision logic.

  1. 01

    Discover

Establish the business, audience, category, evidence and constraints.

  2. 02

    Clarify

Separate the underlying strategic issue from its visible symptoms.

  3. 03

    Define

Document the position, message and direction clearly enough to act on.

  4. 04

    Activate

Translate the strategy into prioritised commercial and marketing decisions.

Professional foundation

Formal qualifications and documented CPD behind my judgement.

My academic study, professional membership and continuing professional development cover the business, brand, marketing and innovation decisions clients ask me to make.
